YEG Junk Genie: Terms of Service

1. Booking & Deposits

  • Request Model: All bookings are considered "requests" until manually confirmed by YEG Junk Genie. We reserve the right to adjust arrival windows to optimize route efficiency.

  • Deposit: A non-refundable $50 deposit is required to secure your appointment. This deposit is fully credited toward your final invoice.

  • Cancellations: We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may forfeit the deposit.

2. Pricing & Estimates

  • Volume-Based Pricing: Final pricing is determined on-site based on the actual volume your items occupy in our trailers.

  • Price Ranges: Our online price ranges (e.g., $399–$499 for a half load) are estimates. Extreme weight or awkward dimensions may result in pricing at the higher end of the range.

  • Weight Limit: Standard rates include up to 1.5 tonnes. Loads exceeding this weight (typically dirt, sod, concrete, or shingles) are subject to weight-based surcharges.

3. Surcharges & Specific Items To comply with Alberta environmental regulations and local recycling fees, the following surcharges apply per item:

  • Mattresses/Box Springs: $35 each.

  • Refrigerants (Fridges/Freezers/AC): $55 each.

  • Tires (Off-Rim): $15 each.

  • Heavy Materials (Masonry/Dirt/Shingles): $65 base surcharge.

4. Loading & Labor

  • Complimentary Time: Every pickup includes 15 minutes of loading assistance.

  • Additional Labor: To maintain our schedule and provide a professional service, labor exceeding 15 minutes is billed at $35 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments.

  • Staging: We highly encourage customers to have items staged in a driveway, garage, or easily accessible area to minimize loading time.

5. Prohibited Items (Hazmat) For safety and environmental reasons, we cannot haul:

  • Propane tanks or explosives.

  • Hazardous chemicals, wet paint, or oils.

  • Biohazardous materials.

  • Any items prohibited by Edmonton Eco Station or regional landfill policies.

6. Liability While we take every precaution to protect your property, YEG Junk Genie is not liable for minor wear and tear to driveways or lawns resulting from standard trailer operation. We ask that customers clear a path to the items for the safety of our team and your property.

7. One-Man Operation & Stair Access

  • Safety First: To ensure the safety of our operator and your property, YEG Junk Genie operates as a single-person service. We cannot move items exceeding 75 lbs up or down stairs without on-site assistance from the client or a third party.

  • Stair Surcharge: Items located in basements or on upper floors naturally require more time. While we are happy to assist, please note that the 15-minute complimentary loading window begins upon arrival. Time spent navigating stairs typically leads to the $35/hr labor rate being applied.

  • Path Clearance: Customers are responsible for ensuring a clear, safe path (minimum 36" width recommended) for all indoor removals. YEG Junk Genie is not liable for minor scuffs or wall marks in tight stairwells or hallways where items have not been properly staged for removal.

  • Ground-Level Preference: For the most efficient service and to stay within the minimum pricing, we highly recommend staging items in a garage, driveway, or at the curb.
